County Employees Group Takes Trophy

A group of Potter County employees
accepted the trophy for winning the Steps to a Healthier You competition recently.

Pictured, from left, are Julie Dubots, Linda Gambino, Debbie Ostrum, Susan Kefover and Sean Conklin, seated.

The six-week wellness initiative included tracking minutes of weekly physical activity among participants: Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Austin School District, Coudersport School District, Galeton School District, Northern Potter School District, Oswayo Valley School District, Otto-Eldred School District, Port Allegany School District, and Potter County employees. Austin had the largest percentage of participants.

A pre and post evaluation was completed by the employees and at the completion of the six week activity challenge the following was noted: 22% improvement in respondents indicating they exercised at least 3 times per week, 14% improvement in respondents indicating they exercised at least 5 times per week, 11% improvement in those stating they felt healthy, 7% improvement in those eating 5 servings of fruit and vegetables daily.

Nice try Sean! He had a dildine button on his shirt so he could get it in the picture but it got covered up by the trophy.

He wears that dildine button to work and around town. Seems kinda inappropriant to me.

Just so you know he was given that button by a young man who was on probation and he handcrafted the buttons. They boy has turned his life around and the employees in the Probation Department all agreed to wear those buttons just to give the kid a pat on the back for getting his s--- together. Oh and the word is spelled "appropriate."

My nephew happens to be the one who made those buttons and he was proud that the Probation Officers were wearing them. Why is wearing a dildine button so inappropriate? He tried to get DG to sell the buttons just so he could try to make a little money and they said no because of the Corporate Office. Maybe the Gauld Corner Store would give him a break and sell them or Hauberts Jewelry Store. Don't kick a young man when he is down.

Actually it was not the probation officers wearing the dildine buttons. It was the Potter County Human Resources people from the old school in Roulette. A lot of them bought the buttons out of their own pockets and are wearing them to support this kid who has turned things around after having a real crabby up-bringing. If Haubers or Gaulds won't sell the buttons try Drabees in Roulette or maybe the Living Blessings store next to the Maple Tree Restaurant in Coudersport.

I wondered about those buttons.
Talk to the Hemphills at Abundant Blessings (note the proper name) in Coudersport as I am sure they will sell them to help a kid trying to turn things around in life. They are compassionate people. Leave an email address or phone number here and I will even ask them for you if you want. Maybe sell them at the Relay for Life this Friday night too.
