FALCON ALUMNI TAKE ON PORT GATORS – JULY 9th

FALCON ALUMNI TAKE ON PORT GATORS JULY 9th

Four decades of Falcon Pride Alumni will renew the team’s historic rival with the Port Allegany Gators, at the “BLAST FROM THE PAST” Alumni Football Game to be held at the Port Allegany High School football field at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 9th!

According to Rick Angood, organizer of the Coudersport Alumni Team, “Forty-five Falcon Alumni including John Dubots, Tom Storey, and Craig Moshier will compete in July 9th’s football game with several area cheerleading alumni rooting the “old timers” toward victory!”

Money raised by the event will benefit the Coudersport area “SOAP” project (“Save Our Area Pool”). Tickets are $5/person (or) $4/person with a canned food donation for the local food bank, to be collected at the gates. Falcon Alumni memorabilia will also be available at the event!

Special thanks go to Lagrua Printing (Game Day Programs), Paul Burdick (Event Photography), Bollhorst Bussing (Team Transport) and Serenity Massage (Half-Time Massages).

Thanks to all who contributed and helped to organize this event. It should be a challenge for all involved!!! However, I do have one question - I was wondering how the players were picked for the Coudersport team. Was it by name, position, stats, etc. My interest was peaked when I asked my brother who is a former Falcon on several years of winning seasons and Big 30 All Star Team Member why he wasn't participating. His response was he was not asked. He is not hard to locate since he has not left the area. Although he had no problem with it, I was a little disappointed that the offer was not at least extended to him as he was not just your average player. I am not offering up a name as it truly is not a problem but was just curious.

Hope to see lots of fans out for this event. I think it is great that they are using the proceeds to help local charities. Any idea what the Port A money is going to?

Why is it not being played in Coudy??

@7:02
Tell your brother he's lucky he's not playing, cause Port is going to kick @$$!
Go Gators!!!

I think the proceeds from Port are going to PACS, and the youth football. Not 100%

Port extended the offer to Coudy I assume , That's why it's bein played there.

Port's funds raised also go to the Library Fund...I believe Port started the Alumni game...and did indeed extend the invite to coudy...

Why are people just idiots when it comes to this site? people just get on here to bitch no matter what the subject is!!!! The bottom line to this whole thing is that it is a fundraiser and yes it is an invite from Port A.

@7:02. It seems there were no "invitations" just word of mouth to see who was interested. Speaking to one of the players, during the first practices they guys tried to remember everyone that played, and tried to get ahold of everyone they could remember. Just remember these are old football players, who have been hit in the head alot! LOL Im sure it wasn't personal, or anything of that sort, it was just a mistake on their end I'm sure. Im sure who ever your brother is he would be a great asset to the team, and I would tell him to get in contact with Rick Angood. Its not too late.

Only guidline is that you played football for the falcons/gators your senior year. Get in contact wit the "team captains" if you're interested in playing.

I almost flew home for this. Coudy Roster has: Four state wrestlers, one that was a state champ, at least 3 regional wrestlers, multiple athletes from state qualifying teams, a Navy S.E.A.L., and numerous big 30 All Stars. Not to mention at least 30 members played on a playoff caliper football team and 11 of these guys were for sure collegiate athletes. Prestigious. WAR (shout out to) "pork", Cobb, Mr. Cole, "Coach Erich", Captain Gooch, Big Gooch, D.J./Titty, Mini, Babar, Hoser, Suckie, Bozz, William David Thomas Russell, Coach Story, and Coach Wright. Go down like a pack of wild dogs! What do we eat? Gator meat! And take off your hat to the banner!
