This is business as usual for Penelec... The PUC is very familiar with this outfit.

Power was back on at 2:25. Don't know what the problem was but there were several Penelec trucks at the sub station behind PC.

I like how they read my meter like once every 6 months. When I complain they tell me to read it myself and tell them what it says. The gas company seems to be able to read my meter every month and they have to bend over to see it even. The best part is the smart meter charge on all our bills.

This is thier way of saving the customer 5% on thier next bill, even though it costs $250.00 for the lost food in the refrig. Can't blame them for trying.

$250.00 worth of food lost in 3 hours???? What did you do,stand there with the fridge store open the whole time????

My thoughts too. How do you lose your fridge contents in 3-4 hours without power?

Keep the door shut and the contents will be just fine.

Are we so soft that a few hours without power is almost unbearable?

The Port Allegany area is ALWAYS losing electric. Let the wind blow a little, or maybe two to three inches of snow and BAM, no power. As for the cost, start shopping around for your electric people, you are not bound to Penelec.
