Work Progresses At The Arboretum

Work Progresses At The Arboretum

The Potter County Trailblazers were at the Coudersport Arboretum on Thursday to help Lou Karija with cleaning ditches and trails, installing conduit for lighting and preparing the walkways for limestone.

Work began on the newest part of the Coudersport Arboretum on Wednesday when Beau Gross broke ground with a Bobcat and cut the trail through the new part of the Arboretum behind McDonalds and next to the Police station. Beau volunteered his time and his father Lee Gross volunteered his Bobcat.

Mike Kallenborn of Pine Valley Nurseries donated his time and equipment to auger holes for the light posts. Mike has donated a lot of time to the Arboretum.

Gary Walaski levels limestone while Jeff Schroeder moves the material with a Skidsteer donated by the LCWhitford CO. Gareth Gockley has fabricated bases for the light poles and will help pour concrete. Dave Hazel of Hazel Enterprizes is going to volunteer his roller and time to roll the limestone trail. All work is volunteer and the Arboretum Committee has a limited budget so donations of any kind are welcome.

Jeff Schroder and Gary Walaski finish leveling limestone.
