World Of Outlaws Race Draws Record Crowd To McKean County Raceway

Richards Thrills Big Pennsylvania Crowd

EAST SMETHPORT, Pa. — Josh Richards — and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series — sparkled on Wednesday night at McKean County Raceway.

Racing in front of a standing-room-only crowd that ranked as the biggest in the history of the one-third-mile oval, Richards overtook Vic Coffey for the lead on lap 27 and marched on to victory in the Penn Gold 40. More...

It was a good race, just a shame that they let people block and reserve seats the day before the tickets went on sale.

Awesome show put on by not only the WoO racers but the local classes as well. Only improvement I can see that needs to be made is to the PA system as you could not hear or understand the announcers at all. Otherwise, great night of racing!!!!

They should not let anyone save seats, period. Why not sell reserve seating for the entire event? The large grandstand has every seat numbered. Then sell general admission for the other bleachers. I'm sure people had lots of seats blocked off that were not used and left the others that paid the same price with no seating.

There's also NO security in the place! People smoking all over, but no one to enforce the rules. Also, they should ban drinking or at least being under the influence. It's supposed to be a family venue, but the stinking drunks get loud and swear, cuss, and curse right in front of little kids, usually their own!
People walk right in who don't pay, the people they got working don't check hardly anyone, I doubt they even care!
It used to be that you couldn't take in a cooler bigger than a 12 pack, at this last race on Wed., there was a ton of coolers bigger than one person could carry. Why the change? Who needs that much beer for a 3 hour show? There was a ton of coolers on the seats too, instead of on the deck.
At least this week there was more than 1 person selling tickets. No offense judy, but you're sssllllooowwwwwww and when you're by yourself, it's painful to watch you count.
When we got there at 3:45, there were hardly any seats left available that weren't saved. If I'd have known about getting in early to get seats I would not have gone and paid 40 bucks for me and my kid.
The guys running it now need to get off their asses and get into the crowd! Stop sitting in the old arts and crafts building and mingle Ken, Tom, and Rich!!!
Make sure people aren't smoking or being stupid drunks!!!! You're making enough money to hire security too!!!
You're going to lose families, you've already lost me and mine! We won't go back to hear a grown man drop the F bomb around a group of 7-10 year olds, 2 who were his own relatives, and have to be asked repeatedly to stop.
And before anyone says to "...complain or let someone know…" let me ask you "Who?" Who do you tell? There's no one to tell except the ticket people, they can't keep up with gathering tickets and stamping hands!
What a shame!
