The Coudersport Council of the Knights of Columbus along with the Coudersport Area School District and the Falcon Football Team will once again sponsor the annual Punt, Pass, and Kick contest this year. The event will be held at Coudersport Recreation Park (CARP) on Saturday – September 10th. Since this event is part of the national NFL Punt, Pass & Kick Competition, winners have the opportunity of going all the way to the national contest.

While advancement in the national competition is by combined age groups (6/7,8/9, 10/11, 12/13, 14/15) and ribbons are provided by the national sponsors for both the boys and girls, the Knights of Columbus will add to the awards by providing trophies for the first, second, and third places in each individual age group competing. The trophies will be awarded by age group with no separation for the boys and girls. However, the boys and the girls in each combined age group will compete separately for the ribbons.

Both the boy and the girl winner in each combined age group are eligible to advance to the sectional competition. The Knights will also sponsor trophies for the top three female overall winners. The age group for competition will be determined by the age of the youngsters as of December 31, 2011.

No football shoes, cleats, or turf shoes are permitted: only soft-soled sneakers will be allowed. It should be noted that valid birth certificates or baptismal documents will be required for the next level of competition. While it is expected that the vast majority of the competitors will be from our local schools, the competition must be open to youngsters outside of our school districts if they choose to compete.

At all levels of competition, including our local level, only the first place winner is eligible to advance. If for some reason that winner does not choose to advance then no one will advance to the next level. Each winner will be required to provide their own transportation to the next level of competition.

Registration forms can be obtained from the physical education departments or the main offices at each of the area schools. The sponsors are asking that competitors register in advance. If a youngster is unsure of his ability to participate that day, they ask that he or she register anyway. This saves last minute registration hassles. The gates to CARP will open at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 10th and check in must be completed by 9:30 A.M.
