Why don't Zito media buy it?

Why DOESN'T Zito Media buy it.. and probably because they don't need it... or I assume they would?

I think it would be great if a college bought it.. I think Coudersport would make a great college town. Just think of the business it would bring in!

They should just sell the marble that is in it..worth more than the whole building. What a joke.

I think it would make a great casino!!??!

State of the art fiber optic systems???? Maybe 10 years ago!!! The bank got it for $350,000 and they are starting the bidding at $1.5 million? Be realistic people!!!!

They should just make it the new unemployment office.

Casino....Great idea! That building is perfect for a casino... that would create tons of jobs, generate business and income from taxes for Coudy.

I got dibs on the blackjack table!

Please not another high upkeep county owned building! That would raise our taxes through the roof!

salvage value was less than the cost of dismantaling, about 3+ million. The bank had 4+ million in it and it costs more than 200,000 a year in service contracts.

Turn it into a state prison.

If there was a guarantee that a college would use the building, I would personally buy it and give it to them. Seriously. And that is just another way the gas boom would help the community.

It would make an awesome historical/museum building.

Historical buildings don't generally generate money, they cost money. We need something to generate jobs and revenue. A college would do both.

I love the college idea. How about making it just a specialized campus for training & learning I/T specialties, networking, etc. Too bad we can't interest Penn State or Univ. of Pitts. to make it a satellite campus for that type of learning environment. Maybe even a specialized college for autistic children and build a support network around that in our community. The country is going to have a ton of autistic children that will be aging out of the system soon. They are going to need some place to live and be cared for with love & support -- why not Coudersport, PA? Just thinking o/s the box.

Why not a cancer center. The one at the Cole hospital won't be big enough pretty soon with all this gas drilling and contamination.

Anything would be an improvement over a vacant building. What a waste and daily reminder of what was lost in this community. What a shame

I think that the college idea is excellent-especially IT courses-This would create jobs and give many an opportunity to seek an education or further the one they have. In this rural area it is all but impossible for working adults to seek further education or a new vocation-(especially if you have children to take care of).

to poster 6:18 I agree about the cancer center and or dialysis center, but did you ever think the problem might not be the water it may be the air. I have been to coudersport many times,it is such a nice town but it smells. Every time i am there people are burning garbage, why would people think that their neighbors would want to smell their garbage burning, this may be the reason for some of the cancer.
