PUBLIC NOTICE--ROULETTE TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS

The Roulette Township Supervisors wish to ask for the assistance of their residents.

There has been recent HEAVY TRUCK traffic on Reed Run Road from Route 6 to the Keating Township line without proper bonding or permitting.

This road is posted for a maximum of 10 tons and any traffic over that weight must have prior bonding and permitting though the township office. There are currently NO bonds or permits issued for this roadway for anyone.

The Pennsylvania State Police barracks at Coudersport are aware of the situation, but neither they nor the township can monitor this roadway 24/7.

What the supervisors request is that if anyone notices any heavy vehicles traveling this roadway, to please call the township office at 814-544-7549 during normal business hours, or contact the Coudersport barracks at 814-274-8690 and notify them directly. Any additional information from these vehicles that can be given to them, such as license plate numbers, company names, etc… will be even more helpful to the officers that respond.

If you have a camera handy and can snap a photo, that would be an added benefit. We certainly do not ask that anyone goes out of their way to monitor this, but if anyone should happen to see such activity and report it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

The Roulette Township Supervisors

Why doesn't PA State police install their own survellience camera(s)?
They use traffic cameras in cities @ red lights...just sayin.

simple solution: find a couple people with houses close by to reed run and have them set up a web cam in a window with appropriate software, and offer a reward for 10% of fines collected?

Bet you'd have a whole bunch monitoring all of a sudden.

use cameras? cities do it all over the country.

I was coming home to Austin from work in Port Monday night at around midnight.I followed a huge big rig hauling I don't know what with an oversize load sticker and guide truck leading the way! They went right up Keating Summit hill and turned on the Reed Run road so ya they do travel that road late at night.

Place a few of those cameras up that you can use to film the wildlife on a 24/7 basis. No one has to baby sit those, no pay and it will collect the info you want.

Use the technology available to you.

My wife and I were taking our granddaughter to Sizerville pool a couple weeks ago and the road has been widened for quite a distance and at the top of one of the crests was a line of about dozen large trucks with almost every driver hiding their faces. Wish I knew this then! Maybe I should go for a ride today......

When asked to help better your town, you gripe and complain?!?! But when maintenance costs go up, you'll gripe and complain about that, too.

SIGH.

Anonymous said...

Maybe you could offer free pool permits to anyone who catches an illegal truck!

Anonymous said...

4:26, the first few posts have a point. It's too bad enforcing the rule wouldn't eliminate the trucks altogether but alas it's just someone else trying to get their slice of the pie.

Do we have permission to photograph these people? Are we aloud to film them? Will we get our asses hauled into court for doing this?

Anonymous said...

Aren't the township supervisors the same people threatening to fine people in Roulette who have blow-up pools in the back yard for not having a permit that they have to get every year the pool is taken down? Now you want the people of Roulette to help you catch some people who are doing something that is against "code"? Now that takes some guts!!

Damn windmills!!

You are so right. It makes much more sense to just let the big trucks do what they want, when they want. Then the supervisors can have a perfect excuse to raise your taxes to repair the roads they damage and let you pay for it rather than trying to get the companies that should pay for it. Thank you for explaining to me where my future tax dollars will go. Help, don't help, ignore it and it will go away. Oh wait then you will be bitching about the road damage and asking why there was nothing done to try to catch the culprits. At least they are trying to make this a better place to live.

same your breath psp is paid by gas money you can talk all you want aint going to happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can't tell me the PA State Police don't have the resources to handle this issue themselves.

They simply don't WANT to spend the time or resources on this issue.

That's why the Supervisors are asking us to do it, the police blew them off.

My taxes pay for you to do your jobs, DO YOUR JOBS.

I'm not going to buy a damn camera and go out and do the polices job for them, not unless it's going to be a valid write off on my taxes.

Take a little less time trying to nab citizens going 60 in a 55 or chasing kids around trying to catch them with grass and stop the trucks on this road.

What a joke, SP cant monitor the road 24/7. Shows someone is getting a kickback!
Politics!!!!!!!!!

They're just trying to make a living,, if the roads arent falling apart leave them alone.

Money hungry government! They tax, fine, and have to get stupid permits for everything in this dam country! Now they dont have enough money!! Who's fault is that? Do we really need so many government employees? Do we really need to pay them like they are superstars? They get everything they want regardless of what anyone's says! I know what will fix the economy, SPREAD THE WEALTH A$$hOlz!

For all the redneck retards that complain about the supervisors asking them to do this…… it's YOUR township too!! Take some freakin pride in your community and make a difference! Whether you're for or against the drilling, they're breaking the law and using PUBLIC roads they aren't supposed to be. There's a reason those roads and bridges and culverts and etc are posted with a weight limit! It's so that there isn't excessive loads being placed that will deteriorate and weaken them to the point of someone innocent being hurt or killed. When the deterioration gets so bad that it won't handle vehicles that are supposed to be using them and it's one of your family, you'll wish you had been part of the solution rather than being the yapping dildine that didn't do anything!
I live in Liberty Township, but I'm very impressed with the way Roulette Township supervisors communicate and interact with their constituents. I'll tell you, it beats having your supervisors at each others throats, firing each other and arguing all the time.

Reed run never has been a good road can't travel it in the winter and some places are like wash boards. Maybe the people that are going to look for swimming pools can look for big trucks???? Nice job maybe you could take someone off welfare or light duty ssi jobs.

Anonymous said...

This is 8:06. What are you talking about? Roulette Supervisors are always having problems. Like Gary Fessenden just resigned. They don't work on the big problems only the stupids ones like the swimming pools. Please tell me another township or Boro that enfources the swimming pool law?????? We have an employee that doesn't have enough work to do so he goes through the files to see what kind of trouble he can stir up. Maybe you want the job of going to all the swimming pool owners and try to enfource that law, you better have a search warrent to see if I have more than 23" in my pool. May I do and maybe I don,t and you better not come on my land to find out.

Anonymous said...

8:06 How many Roulette township meetings have you been too??????We have had people ask to leaveand our supervisors can,t agree on alot of things.

"Brain Frack!"

LOL @ "Free pool passes for people who help take pictures"

GREAT IDEA!

They are not asking you to go out of your way. All they are asking you to do is,if you happen to be traveling on reed run, take notice of the company name or licence plate number...I don't see anything wrong with them asking people for a little help.

Anonymous said...

huh this could all be fixed if they would just pay the bond for the roads..End of story..
