Roger M. RENNELLS, 78, of Bradenton, FL and Ellisburg, PA

Roger M. RENNELLS, 78, of Bradenton, FL and Ellisburg, PA, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in the Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, FL.

Born March 24, 1933, in Coudersport, PA, he was the son of Frank and Isabelle Smith Rennells.

A US Army Veteran, he served honorably during the Korean War from 1953 -- 1955.

On October 17, 1953, in Brookland, PA, he married the former Dorothy D. Beckhorn, who predeceased him on April 29, 1989.

On March 16, 1991, in Genesee, PA, he married the former Elizabeth “Liz” Baumgarner Erhard, who survives. Roger was employed by ABB Air Preheater in Wellsville, NY for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Ellisburg Union Church and the Orange Grove Free Methodist Church in Bradenton.

Surviving besides his wife, Liz, are: two daughters, Debra (Rick) McHenry of Garner, NC and Diane (Ronald) Barker of Gainesville, VA; three sons, David Rennells of Ellisburg, PA, Darryl (Robin) Rennells of Raleigh, NC, and Dale (Shelly) Rennells of Ellisburg, PA; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Kurt (Lois) Erhard of Spencerville, MD and Van (Sandra) Erhard of Santee, CA; and a brother, Francis (Karen) Rennells of Mifflinburg, PA.

In addition to his first wife, he was predeceased by an infant brother, David Rennells.

Friends may call at the Ellisburg Union Church on Monday, September 5, 2011 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM, with a Memorial Service following at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Paul M. Karges will officiate. Burial will be in Genesee Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312. Arrangements are entrusted to the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA.
