Galeton Man Arrested For Burglary/Second Man Sought By Police

State Police have made an arrest in a burglary at the Galeton VFW Post 6611 that occurred over two years ago. Trooper James P. Yoder filed charges in the May 8, 2009 burglary.

Raymond Albert Legerlotz, 49, of 4 Railroad Avenue, Galeton, PA, was arrested and arraigned before District Judge Delores Bristol in District Court 55-4-03 in Galeton, where he was released on $5,000. unsecured bail. He faces charges of: (F2) Burglary; (F2) Crim Tres-Break Into Structure; (F2) Conspiracy - Burglary; and (M1) Theft By Unlaw Taking-Movable Property.

Police said the burglary occurred on Saturday, May 8, 2009, at the VFW Post, located about 100 yards west of the Boro of Galeton in West Branch Township, Potter County. The actors broke into the VFW building by force, stole a cash register and drawers, and damaged a computer and a door inside the building. The report did not state how much money was stolen.

During the investigation, Pennsylvania State Police was able to identify the persons believed responsible for this crime. Arrest warrants were obtained Wednesday and Legerlotz was taken into custody without incident. He faces a preliminary hearing on October 5, 2011 at 9 am in Judge Bristol's courtroom.

A warrant of arrest has been issued for another person involved in this crime who does not live locally and has not been located at this time. The name of the co-conspirator was not released by police until the suspect is caught and arraigned. He faces charges of: (F2) Burglary; (F2) Crim Tres-Break Into Structure; (F2) Conspiracy - Burglary; (F3) Criminal Mischief - Damage Property; (M1) Theft By Unlaw Taking-Movable Prop; (M1) Receiving Stolen Property; and (S) Criminal Mischief - Damage Property.

i agree, there are several others in that town that have stolen money and basically got a slap on the wrist. even though they committed a felony, no one in galeton cares, they just look at it as a simple honest mistake, which is WRONG!!!

It doesnt matter what town it is, Wellsboro shoots and kills their own, coudersport has one of the highest crime rates, it really doesnt matter where and whom, why should people liek that define a town, it shouldnt. Glad he was caought but he's not even from that area originally so he's NOT A LOCAL!
