National Hip Hop Artist to Perform

On Sunday, national recording artist Playdough will be performing at Open Arms Community Church in Bradford.

The Dallas, Texas based rapper will perform following local artist Ariel Campbell, local reggae band Irie, and Oil City hip hop performer Lie Detector. The concert starts at 6:30PM on Sunday and has a $6.00 Cover Charge.

"We're really excited to bring in an act of this caliber to the stage at Open Arms," says Media Coordinator Josh Hatcher, "and we're always excited about working with local musicians and fostering the arts in our community."

Playdough has worked with some large names in the music industry, including The Black Keys, P.O.D., Mos Def, Erykah Badu, and Linkin Park.

Playdough has released two full-length albums with worldwide distribution (EMI, Sony) and also an EP in Australia, which have all received critical acclaim, and has been featured on MTV. His website is http://www.iamplaydough.com

I can go along with those kudios and dildines for Josh. I remember when he was a young whipperschnapper running around Roulette and look at him now. I still have tha CD he did about a decade ago and I have memerized the songs on it including the one about Deanie, God rest her soul. Way to go Josh for making Roulette proud and kudos and dildines to you for sure.

Thanks for the kind words!

:( I miss my Grandma Deanie. Keep thinking about her and her stories and how much she loved me.

I am excited about this show! I've been a fan of Playdough for a long time, actually - so when they called me up and said that they were doing a show in Jamestown and wanted to pick up another gig in the area before he heads back to Texas - OF COURSE I said YEAH!

Here's one of his videos if you want to check it out - even if you don't like hip hop - it's pretty good.
