Speed Display Sign Placed in Austin Borough, Potter County

Speed Display Sign Placed in Austin Borough, Potter County

Austin –In an effort to improve highway safety, PennDOT placed a radar-controlled speed display sign along Route 607 (Main Street) in Austin Borough, Potter County.

The sign faces southbound traffic on Route 607 in the village of Austin. This area is posted with a speed limit of 40 miles per hour.

The speed display sign will remain on location for about three weeks and will register the speeds of vehicles traveling along that section of roadway.

The speed display sign uses radar to determine the speeds of oncoming traffic. Those vehicle speeds are then posted on the lighted section of the sign. Above the speed display is a speed limit sign showing the posted 40-mile-per-hour speed limit for that section of Route 607.

Make sure your plate is not upside down as you drive past, that's an additional fine.
