State Police Investigating Chicken Wing Crime

State police investigating who put chicken wings in Snyder County woman's mailbox

State police at Selinsgrove are trying to determine who put hot chicken wings in a Snyder County woman's mailbox this week.

The wings were discovered about 11 a.m. this morning by Edith Rice, who lives on Route 522 in Franklin Township. Police believe the delivery was made sometime after 5 p.m. Thursday.

State police are investigating it as a disorderly conduct crime. Anyone with information on how the chicken wings got in the mailbox can call police at 570-374-8145.

Really? Obviously it was just a prank. Someone must not have a sense of humor.

agreed. just eat the wings, hose out the mailbox, and get on with life. no need for the police to be involved.

What a waste! Hot wings aren't cheap! Seriously though, who calls the police for this sort of thing? Unless there have been other incidents that we don't know about...

Were the wings delivered to the wrong house? Maybe a new delivery person who was confused?

Anonymous said...

^^^ haha, must not be the flavor they wanted.

Yes, it is a big fricken deal! Think of all the food borne illnesses and diseases that can grow on those wings in an unrefrigerated mailbox.

I believe she did order the wings but when there was no bleu cheese and celery she got pi$$&ed off

Food-borne illnesses? They weren't in there during the heat of the day and it isn't the middle of the summer. I highly doubt that she was going to eat them so she was safe from food poisoning. As to any bacteria that may or may not be left it's nothing a bottle of lysol disinfectant and some paper towels wouldn't take care of. Mailboxes usually aren't sparkling clean anyways. Just think of all the germs that come in on your mail from the hundreds of people who handled it in the two days before you received it. Or about the handle on your shopping cart. If you want to be germaphobic about something there's plenty of stuff out there waiting your attention.

WOW!!! You have a refrigerated mailbox? Are they expensive? Where can I get one? Do they come in different colors? I would really like a blue one. :-P
