Temporary Signals On Broad Street Bridge In Emporium Start Friday

Cameron County
Use of Temporary Signals on Emporium Bridge Return Friday

Emporium – Use of temporary signals on an Emporium bridge will return on
Friday, Sept. 2. The signals will control an alternating traffic pattern for
the Route 3001 (Broad Street) bridge in Emporium. The bridge spans the
Driftwood Branch of the Sinnemahoning. The temporary signals will be in
yellow flash mode beginning on Friday. The signals will be fully activated on
Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The signals were first used in June so that crews could make repairs to the
bridge. The signals are necessary this time so that bridge preservation
painting can take place. PennDOT expects the signals and lane restriction
to bein place through mid-September. All work is weather dependent.

This work is part of a $4.4 million bridge preservation contract for 21
bridges in three counties (9 in Potter County, 1 in Cameron County and 11 in
Clearfield County). Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College is the contractor for
this work.

PennDOT advises drivers to obey posted speed limits and use caution in all
construction zones. For more information on roadway construction and
maintenance operations, visit PennDOT’s website at
