BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford’s Division of Continuing Education and Regional Development will hold a program on the Wilderness Act of 1964 and how it relates to the Allegheny National Forest.

On Oct. 12, participants will meet from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in Room 200 of the Seneca Building in downtown Bradford. During this time, participants will view a documentary, narrated by Robert Redford, which will explore the process of adding federal public land to America’s National Wilderness Preservation System.

On Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon, participants will meet at Chestnut Ridge Wilderness Area, a proposed wilderness area west of Bradford in the Allegheny National Forest, to partake in a moderate three-hour hike. Maps and detailed directions will be available at the class.

There will be a $15 charge to participants, which will include both the class and the hike.
