Serves her right. Oswayo Valley High School is a troubled school.

No one thinks the positive...this could have been alot worse there was alot of kids that said no and stood up for what was right so every school has good and bad stuff in it ....an O.V. parent.

Anonymous said...

Hmm, kids will be kids, but she's got to learn one way or another. Too bad she has to learn this way instead of good examples.

so is nother potter

Anonymous said...

Wow sounds like that child has a problem unless it was a prank.. either way someone needs to step in and correct the situation.

Anonymous said...

because Wicker does not care!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Really, so should they shut it down and send them to another school in the area? List your reasons, sign your name and then we will discuss why you believe this!

Oswayo Valley does not care, well that's not entirely true, it actually depends what your last name is. My daughter was a victim of a bully for a entire year, the school did nothing, the magistrate did nothing even after it was proven the bully assualted my daughter in the school and on the bus. It was over looked in court because her father was a serviceman, I thought the law applied to everyone equally. Numerous calls from school to pick up my daughter to take her to the E.R. because of "accidents" then the toll it took on her mentally I finally had no choice but to enroll her in PACyber. Best thing I ever did, her PSSA scores shot up & she is now doing some work on a 12th grade level. So in my eyes Oswayo Valley does not care, unless your in one of the clicks. I won't sign my real name but I'm sure a few can figure it out. So bash away on me because I spoke my opinion about Oswayo Valley.

I do not care if your 14, 29, 67, we all at one time or another in our lives have made mistakes & will continue to make them!
The girl was in the wrong & I pray she learns from her mistake as I did myself growing up!
I'm not bashing her or judging her, I have children of my own & when you judge someone, judgment comes back to haunt you! Pray for the girl, stop bashing her! We all stand in the need of prayer! & WE ALL NEED PRAYER NOT JUDGMENT!!!!!

Anonymous said...

really prayer.... lol get a life honey... the child made the mistake. prayer will not help her she will help herself..

Anonymous said...

What happened to ZERO TOLLERANCE in the schools? Would it be ok for a kid to bring a switch-blade to school hidden in a hoagie roll?

Anonymous said...

I hope she is alright.I went to Oswayo Vally and it is a good school. The only problem there is nothing for the kids to do besides getting in trouble.

Austin, PA is the worse school ever
we moved out of Austin, PA because of one female bus driver doing drugs
and we just found out 3 months ago she is still driving..it not the kids it the adults teaching the kids
i will never ship my kids to Austin pa school again..so just don't blame one school..look around you all open your eyes..and look good!!!!!!

to: Just Me--well unfortunately the law does not apply to everyone equally. In a decent world it would, but this is far from a decent world. We live in a world where bad behavior and lack of moral integrity is rewarded for many people. Just consider the law infractions of Lindsey Lohan where she has made an absolute mockery of law... Kim Kardashian and the likes of that vile family of hers has made a mockery of plain decency, Theresa Guidice, and then what is going on at Penn State. however when some others make a mistake they are never allowed to live it down. Life is just not fair, and lady justice is supposed to be blind and is...but only for some...not all.

9:48 all I can say to you is I hope you are never in a situation that you will be asking for prayer and then we'll see if you think prayer does not work! Shame on you Honey! Prayer will help Anyone!!! no matter what situation thwey are in! You need to get a life yourself! A Prayer Life!

Anonymous said...

9:29 I totally agree with you, prayer absolutely works,& you are so right we all stand in the need of prayer, we are to pray for one another & 9:48 if anyone, you need to get a life yourself & you better hope you never need prayer someday & you need to be careful w3ho you judge, judgment will bite you back!

For one, i dont think we should put her down, she made a mistake. and for a fact i know there was more kids then just her that was involved but, she was the bigger person and took the wrap for it all. so i dont think we should put her down or her school. thanks.

Anonymous said...

First of all i do not think we should be putting this girl down, cause people make mistakes, and you may not know the whole story! Second, i happen to know there was more then just her involved. But, she was the bigger person and took the wrap for everyone! So i dont think we should be putting her or her school down! k. Thanks.

lol at everyone saying this town is bad and this town is bad. Do any of you people live in the REAL world? This stuff is happening all over the place so not one town is worse than other.

Anonymous said...

You ppl that knock Austin and Roulette every time a kid gets in trouble, make me sick. Autin isn't any worse then the bigger schools. I would have to say that coudy is one of the worst schools in this area.
what, with the adults running around calling each other "dilidines" or however its spelled. The adults aren't even playing with a full deck, so you can imagine the kids that come out of that town. So i wouldn't be so quick to put our small town down, there's more intelligent ppl here then anywhere else in poco. The reason you moved away is because the welfare system got tired of carrying your dead a$$. The only ppl here that are on welfare are ppl that moved here from other places. You don't here of any native Austin ppl being on welfare. So get off your high horse and stay out of Austin, you probably were one of the imports anyways. Get over yourself poster 12:35...

Anonymous said...

I certainly agree 7:45 & 3:19, ya's need to pray for the girl & the others oughta be ashamed of themselves for allowing her to take the wrap herself!

To all you people out there that think you need to judge my daughter AND our family life you now NOTHING! NOTHING AT ALL! She is a good kid!Staight A student never missed honor roll till this year which it was only missed by 2pionts. The school is not to blame, the teachers, staff, bulling, or peer pressure everyone makes a chioces in thier life and everyone learns from them> Everyone NEEDS to be held accountable for thier own actions and THAT is what she is doing being held accountable She is a good kid who made a wrong choice and I highly doubt, she will ever make another chioce so ignorant as this one. If more Parents would hold their child to the FULL extent of the actions more would only be making one wrong chioce instead of several of them through out thier life. EVERY PERSON NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIER OWN ACTIONS AND THAT IS EXCACTLY WHAT SHE IS DOING! I love you sweety be strong we all make mistakes life goes on and we learn from them <3
I applaud the School district and thank you all for you support in the matter! Nicole Payne

Yes kids make mistakes & hopefully they learn from them. Unfortunately in this area depending who you are you'll never live it down. I still hear about things that happened when my children were young like it happened yesterday. I made my children answer to their wrong doings and tried to do the right thing, but the gossip mongers made it a 100 times worse. Hopefully your daughter won't endure that. A lot of times when it comes to peer pressure everything you taught them goes out the window for short period of time. Schools are getting bad all over, just watch the news. I am grateful I have a choice whether my daughter attends public school or not. She does not.

Very well said Nicole. You certainly made the point in the finest way! Good job and best wishes to you and your family for seeing and addressing this issue.

Ms. Payne,
I applaud you! There are SO many parents who allow their children to get away with everything because the "school districts are stupid!" You should be proud of yourself for accepting that your daughter made a mistake and making HER accountable for it. She is a young girl who made a mistake...something we ALL do. The only time making a mistake is wrong is when you don't learn from it.

How can all of these problems (minors and alcohol, wrestling coaches, no track) be happening in "the #1 academic school in the area"--what a joke!! Time for a reality check and an end to the pipedreams.

Anonymous said...

She is in the WRONG. She knew what she was doing was wrong because she knew in advance on how to hide the booze in a Pepsi bottle.

Under age drinking. Where did she get the booze?

To the person who is trashing Austin Area High School.
Learn your facts before you run your mouth. The bus driver you are talking about is one the biggest sweethearts you will ever meet, but you wont know that cuz you never took the time to know her. and Austin is a good school. Every school has its ups and downs its just how it is now a days. Its not all sunshine and rainbows like when you went to school back in the day. It is a sad thing to say but it is the truth. Oh, and by the way....
GO AUSITN PANTHERS! :)

Good thing you are making your daughter take responsibility, at least she might be able to become a RESPONSIBLE ADULT.

Anonymous said...

You are doing the right thing mom. And for the rest of you negative people we are a community that needs each other and PRAYER. And for the people who requested prayer amen for you atleast somebody has the right choice in mind. & not bash others. God bless you all!!!

Anonymous said...

You need to stop bashing Austin Area School District, both my children graduated there & both have excelled in their chosen careers & if I had it to do over again, I would choose Austin Area High School!Austin is no different than any other town & people ya need to stop bashing other kids that make a mistake, it is none of your darn business, I believe her parents will do the discipling!

Anonymous said...

Wow, I'm amazed at these comments over this young lady, I live out of the area & it is appalling how adults come on here & post the most horrendous comments concerning a young lady that has made probably her first mistake in her life, I bet better than half of the people throwing out their opinions have made worse mistakes than this young lady! I think you's need to throw stones at yourselves before ya's throw stones at a 14yr old, not one of you's should judge her! As one blog said, it is none of your darn business, Let her parents do the discipling & as far as you's go, mind our own business! I believe Mom has done a great job addressing her daughter's situation so folks, let her handle it & mind your own darn business!

With all the media, lectures, school lessons, parental influence, Facebook, Tweeter, friends, on underage drinking then is NO EXCUSE. She knew better. PERIOD.

This girl is very young and if more students had parents with this girl's parents attitude our school would be so much better.
Regardless who it is some parents jump right in and wanna blame the school and not their little angels. We need more parents who elect to see the child punished correctly and make them see the error of their ways.
I am sorry to see this happen, but, I hope an early intervention on this behavior makes a difference in child's ways.
Thank you for your honesty, Nicole.

All for show, all for show.

I, Myself commend you also Nicole, as blog 2:01 says! We need more parents like you that do care about your children! You are good mother!
