Congratulations Steve: Mom, Dad And Wes Are Very Proud

Congratulations Steve: Mom, Dad And Wes Are Very Proud

Photo left to right Steve Bernard, Steven John Bernard, Wes Bernard and Carol Bernard

Steven John Bernard, the son of Steve and Carol Bernard graduated from Liberty university, Lynchburg, VA in December 2010, with a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. Nine months later Steve achieved his dream by commissioning as a Second Lieutenant of the Marines.

Since graduating high school in 2006, Steve knew he wanted to be a United States Marine. Shortly after arriving to Liberty University his freshman year, he decided he would pursue a career as a Marine after finishing his degree. However he couldn't not wait four years to become a Marine, so he quickly met with a recruiter and enlisted in the reserves. Two weeks after finishing his first year at school, Steven left for Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, to attend boot camp. Three long months later he stood proud, and so did his parents as he graduated with the prestigious Leatherneck Award as an Honor Graduate of his platoon.

Steven returned to Lynchburg to continue his college education. During his Sophomore year at school, he was accepted into the Platoon Leaders Class program where he would attend Office Candidate School for the next two summers. Steve graduated with honors both summers of OCS in 2008 and 2009, and returned one last time to college to earn his degree.

His next challenge will be a 6 month course called the Basic School in Quantico, Virginia. Where he will train in basic infantry tactic and leadership. Steven is determined to attend Infantry Officers course after the Basic School, where he will train to become part of the Corp's greatest warriors. The "Marine Grunt"

We are Proud of You Steve!
