Mrs. Lillian B. Mezzelo, 82, of formerly of Bradford and Smethport, PA

Mrs. Lillian B. Mezzelo, 82, of formerly of Bradford and Smethport, passed away Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011 at Presque Isle Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Erie, PA

Born December 14, 1928, in Cyclone, PA, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Carl and Margaret (Cotton) Swanson.

She was formerly married to Angelo J. Nuzzo who died April 2, 1984, and later married Anthony "Tony" Mezzelo, who died January 2, 1995.

She was a long-time member of St. Bernard’s Church in Bradford and St. Elizabeth's Church in Smethport.

She had been employed at Zippo Mfg where she retired in 1991, and volunteered for the Elf Fund. She, along with her husband Tony, wintered in Arizona, and was involved in missionary work on Indian reservations.

Surviving are two daughters, Anne Stephens of Erie, PA and Jenny Nuzzo of Loveland, OH,

Three sons, Joseph Nuzzo and David Nuzzo of Bradford and Angelo Nuzzo of Cleveland, OH one brother, David Swanson of Bradford and two sisters, Grace Yamamato of Shaker Heights, OH, and Patricia Ryan of Buffalo, NY, 14 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and one son, John Nuzzo, who passed away December 6, 1992.

Family will be receiving friends on Monday, November 28, 2011, from 3 to 5 & 7 to 9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. on South Avenue where a prayer service will be held at 9:30am on Tuesday, November 29th followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard Church, at 10am with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor as Celebrant. Mausoleum entombment will be in St Bernard Mausoleum.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Bradford Relay for Life, Elf Fund or charity of the donor's choice.
