Truck Hits Trees On Jo-Jo Road When Driver Reaches For Phone

Joshua K. Hadfield's attention was diverted by his cell phone, which had fallen on the floor of his truck Thursday morning at 2:15 am, just long enough for his truck to hit several trees.

Trooper Mary Gausman, of the Kane station, said Hadfield, 20, of Kane, PA, was traveling east on Jo-Jo Road in Wetmore Township, McKean County, when he received a text message on his cell phone which had fallen on the floor of his truck.

When he reached for the phone, his 1992 Ford F-150 traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking four pine trees with the right side of the vehicle, and then hit another tree head on.

There was severe damage to the front of the truck and minor damage all down the right side.

Hadfield, who was not injured in the crash, fled the scene and was interviewed the next day. He faces several traffic citations including Roadways Laned For Traffic.

This is why people shouldn't have cell phones while driving. Everywhere you go they are glued to their ears and being distracted while driving.

I guess it is better to blame the cell phone for careless driving then to say a deer ran out in front of me

Actually 1:41 it would be cheaper to blame a deer for your wreck then your cell phone habit.
