Police Seeking Burglary Suspect Who Fled Area


A Driftwood man, who is accused of a burglary
at 923 Sterling Run Road at the Pine Buff camp in Lumber Township, Cameron County is being sought by State Police at Emporium.


Bobby-Jo Charles O'Brien, Driftwood, PA, has been named in a felony warrant as a suspect in the theft of a .22 rifle from the seasonal residence. Police say O'Brien has fled the area.

Trooper David A. Surra, in a news release, said that through the course of the investigation of the incident that occurred between July 17 and 22 of 2011, PSP Emporium recovered an abandoned vehicle on SR 3001 (Moore Hill Road) matching the description given by informants as being involved in burglaries in the Sterling Run area.

Upon conducting a search warrant on the vehicle, the .22 rifle stolen from the camp was found and positively identified by the camp owner, Douglas Wittman of St. Marys.

Information obtained indicated that Bobby-Jo Charles O'Brien was utilizing the vehicle and abandoned it on Moore Hill. A felony arrest warrant for burglary and theft of a firearm was obtained for O'Brien.

Since obtaining the arrest warrant, O'Brien has fled the area.

The investigation into several other burglaries in the Sterling Run area of Cameron County and Northern Clinton County is ongoing by PSP Emporium and PSP Lamar.
