Public Support Encouraged For Food Bank, Pet Shelter

Public Support Encouraged For Food Bank, Pet Shelter

givingthanks-floralPotter County employees are once again holding a holiday food drive and encouraging community members to support it. Everything that is collected from now until the end of the year will be donated to local food banks and Teacher’s Pet Rescue. That’s right — pet food and pet supplies are welcome, too!

Collection bins for non-perishable items have been placed in the main hallways of the Gunzburger Building (use Main Street entrance) and the courthouse.

Employees are also raising raise funds for the county’s Meals On Wheels program and Christmas House with a 50/50 drawing, raffles, and other activities. For more information, contact Sherry Ianson at 260-5659, ext. 313.

I LOVE THIS IDEA AND THINK IT'S GREAT .. BUT LETS NOT FORGET THERE IS ANOTHER FOOD BANK IN TOWN NOT JUST ONE. THE SECOND ONE REQUIRES NO PROOF OF INCOME OR ONLY A FEW ITEMS AND IT'S FREE... IT ALSO HAS ITEMS OF CLOTHING, HOUSEHOLD,AND WHAT EVER, PRICE WHAT EVER YOU CAN PAY, MONEY GOES BACK INTO FOOD ITEMS FOR THE FOOD BANK. OH IT'S THE CHURCH ATTIC ON SOUTH MAIN STREET.. TOO BAD PEOPLE FORGET THIS ONE WHEN THEY COLLECT AND GIVE.... CHECK IT OUT

Would like to encourage folks to give to Meals on Wheels. There is a waiting list to get on it because they lack funds.

2:51 that food bank does a poor job of letting anybody know that it exists.
We donate every year to yet another worthy organization, Christmas House.
