Attempted Murder Charge, Others Added in Holley Hammer Attack

Attempted Murder Charge, Others Added in Holley Hammer Attack

The man accused of attacking another man with a hammer at the Hotel Holley is now charged with attempted murder.

Additional charges were filed today against 19-year-old Larry Shroyer Jr. of Bradford. He is also now charged with robbery; criminal solicitation of robbery for allegedly asking Kip Cobb to assist him in a robbery; theft of cash from the victim, 56-year-old James White of Buffalo; and ethnic intimidation.

District Judge Dominic Cercone explained the new charges to Shroyer via video conference and increased his bail from $100,000 to $150,000.

Shroyer is scheduled to appear in Central Court on February 2. This will be the first day Central Court will be held in the McKean County Courthouse instead of District Judge Bill Todd’s office in Smethport.

Shroyer is accused of hitting White with a hammer more than 20 times on Sunday in a room at the Holley. White is still being treated at UPMC Hamot.

When are they ever going to learn, that crime does not pay?? Unless you are willing to do the time.

Nah. The mental midgets that commit these evil crimes are not in need of "doing time", they need waken up with a "treat others as you wish to be treated". That young man should have his money taken away and threatened by "ethnic intimidation" with a hammer. Funny how these young people get slapped on the wrists for major offenses that they commit against others. I'm going out on a limb by saying this: it is sad how alot of people think they are entitled to things they haven't earned. Plain and simple. Leave that guy alone. If you "need" money that bad, GO GET A JOB. Or attempt to get a job and volunteer to show that you want a job badly. And don't going swinging fists or objects at other people. NOTHING good EVER comes out of this. And finally, good people keep respectable friends. Good friends act like a moral compass of sorts and advise good decisions.
Sorry for that rant. That's all I've got.

wow bail went from 100,000 to 1500,000 I'm pretty sure 50,000 would of been more than enough.
