probably stopped cuz the turn signal was flashing too fast or the license plate (My favorite Cop excuse) wasn't working. I got pulled over a few years ago for the license plate light literally an hour after I change it. Got out of the car, me and the cop looked at it and he says "It wasn't working when I pulled you over." Then asked if I was sure I wasn't on any drugs or alcohol. COPS IN PA ARE OUT OF CONTROL

ever notice it is the same trooper every day. This post doesn't list his name but typically they do. Trooper V. Every DUI is reported as being picked up from him. I'm in no way saying you should drive drunk but I wonder if this guy is a bit over zealous.

He must be doing his job then!!!

if he was being "over zealous", then the court would find those arrested not guilty. If you had a loved one killed by a drunk driver, then you would say the officers should have been more proactive and stopped the driver before he killed your son, daughter, parent, or friend. Don't attack an officer for saving lives, attack every single person who gets behind the wheel after drinking any amount of alcohol.

I wouldn't say he is over zealous. I would say he is doing a good job at keeping these drunken idiots off our roads. It drives me nuts when I hear some say, "I wouldn't have gotten a DUI if my tail light wasn't out". No, you wouldn't have gotten a DUI if you were not dumb enough to drink and then get behind the wheel. These complaints and excuses are ridiculous. DUI penalties are not harsh enough. A person gets a few years behind bars if they wave a gun in public but apparently a 4,000 pound missile traveling down the road at 55 mph is safer than that.

Who cares if he is over zealous....he is getting these idiots off the road that put your life, and your loved ones, in danger. Maybe you should be saying "Good Job"!
Thank you to all the troopers! You are appreciated!

Steven Jackson, I know just what your talking about. A few year's ago myself, I was on one of the back raods by Coudy, goin around a very sharp corner, I got pulled over by a state boy, I asked why he pulled me over he said I was speeding, I asked how I was speeding and if anything I was going way under the speed limit. Then he said well your light is out on your license plate, I stepped out and go to the back of my car and what is working, the light. I asked him are you going to make anything else up ? He didn't like that to much. He wrote me out a ticket for speeding. I took it to court and believe it or not I won..Their getting away with to much stuff, and it needs to stop.

AMEN cops keep it up!! I agree with the above comments If your loved one was killed by drunk drive you would be bitching that they don't do enough. The only way to not get caught is not to do the crime!!! I think laws need to be stronger.

A couple of years ago I was stopped just off of Rte 6. They’d followed me in to a store down there and than went across the street and waited for me to leave. They followed me and stopped me. Said I’d was pulling out on the road before I’d turn my head lights on all the way.
At first it had up set them that I’d opened my door. The window was frozen and I couldn’t open it. The Officer got in my face and said I was being taped and started asking me all kinds of question. The one a few times was;” Have you been drinking.” No; No; and no!! This was while Snowmobiles were running by on RTE 6. After all was said and done, a half hour later I was given a Warning on my lights not being turn on as I was pulling out of the store.
Now ;“was I upset about what they did.” H*** NO! I got a chuckle out of it. Three Troops and the Local Cop out doing their job’s.
All I have to say is; they do a good job and I back them 100% and you people should too. If you want to get Mouthy when you are stopped, well than eat the ticket!!!! You have it coming.

As a fireman and EMT I say pulled them over the more the merrier! Ive been pulled over quite a few times in my day! I deserved everyone of them for speeding. I WILL NOT drink and drive1 Ive seen to much crap and watched to many people die! I think anyone who gets a DUI should be required to do most of the community service in the ER so they can see the damages from car wrecks maybe it would wake some people the hell up

You people are funny. I don't advocate drunk driving but how liberal some of you have become over "what if's" is amazingly disgusting. What IF a drunk killed your loved one? What IF your kids are killed because a teen driver was texting? What IF Grandpa Smith fell asleep at the wheel and killed a loved one? What IF a local cop shot at and actually hit what he was aiming for,and killed a loved one for a misdemeanor?? What if, what if, what if??!?!?

Cops ARE overzealous. They no longer approach the job as a "service" but a job. Driving under the influence is illegal but so is harassing motorists under the pretense that they might have been drinking. You people who advocate this are liberal morons who are a huge part of what is wrong with our nation as a whole.

I too have been stopped for my "license plate light being out" only to find that it suddenly repaired itself. Some of you may be okay with this type of deceit and violation of your liberties. I am not.

I am all for police doing their job through good old fashion police work but their underhanded methods will catch up with them eventually.

Most are too arrogant to believe that, most have the liberal sheep standing behind them, but too many police officers are committing these abuses. And there are plenty of citizens who still wish to have their freedoms intact, their civil liberties untouched, and they are taking notice.

So I say, remember you're a public servant, it's not all about the money, and do your service traveling north by the moral compass. And too the liberal horde...pack your bags, move to Iran, China, or some place that your ideologies will fit right in.
