Girl Injured, Traffic Detoured For Hours Sunday After Crash

A 16 year old Coudersport girl was injured on Sunday when her 2003 Dodge Truck went out of control on Route 44 at Carpenter Road in Hebron Township and struck a telephone pole.

The 16 year old was transported by Coudersport Ambulance to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Trooper Derek Weaver, in a press release, said the crash occurred at 3:21 pm as the girl was traveling northbound on SR 44. She lost control of the vehicle and exited the roadway to the east, striking a telephone pole.

The wires from the downed pole caused passenger traffic to be detoured for several hours. Trucks were detained until the road could be opened. Coudersport Fire Dept. controlled traffic at the scene.

The girl will be cited for (not) Driving Vehicle At Safe Speed in District Court 55-4-01.
