Katherine J. Lilly, 96, of Church St.,, Port Allegany, PA

PORT ALLEGANY- Katherine J. Lilly, 96, of Church St., passed away Friday (Jan. 20, 2010) in her residence.

Born June 19, 1915, Snow Shoe, PA, a daughter of John and Catherine Petlak Borowski. On Oct. 8, 1938, in Port Allegany, she married Roy K. Lilly, who died Feb. 1, 1996.

Mrs. Lilly worked for the former Cameo Doll Plant, and was assistant manager for Kantars Department Store, both of Port Allegany, before her retirement.

She attended Portville and Olean High Schools.

She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church of Port Allegany. She was also a former Cub Scout leader for Den #4.

She will be be remembered for her love of family and love of fashion.

Surviving are two sons, Paul J. Lilly and R. James Lilly both of Port Allegany; a daughter, Georgia (Howard) Edgreen of Jamestown, NY; five grandchildren, Pamela Rosario of Jamestown, Mark Edgreen of Huntington Beach, CA. Chris Lilly of Erie, PA, Scott Lilly and Rob Lilly both of Port Allegany; four great-grandchildren, Ben Rosario of Jamestown, Mercedes Edgreen of Huntington Beach, CA. Jocelyn Lilly and Olivia Lilly both of Port Allegany; a brother, John (Marian) Borowski of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy, three brothers, Jack Borowski, Joe Borowski, and Mike Borowski and a sister, Anna Ueblhear.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Sunday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (Jan. 23, 2012) in St. Gabriel’s Catholic, with Rev. Charles Schmitt, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Port Allegany.

A scriptural wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Port Area Ambulance Service.
