M. Joyce DuShaw, 76, of 304 Olean Road, Derrick City, PA

M. Joyce DuShaw, 76, of 304 Olean Road, Derrick City, went to be with her Lord, Thursday, January 26th, 2012 at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born August 13, 1935, in Connellsville PA, she was a daughter of the late William R. and Ella (Walk) Soisson. She was a 1953 graduate of Connellsville High School and in 1957 graduated from the California State Teachers College in California, PA.

On September 10, 1955 in Connellsville PA she married James H. DuShaw who survives.

Mrs. DuShaw taught in the Bellfonte school system for a short time.

She was a member of Hill Memorial United Methodist Church and the Westley Circle at the church.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, sewing, quilting, and playing cards with her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 56 years are four daughters, Janis DuShaw of Bradford, Julia (Patrick) Cici of Middleburg Heights, OH, Jeann (Thomas) Cengeri of Kutztown, Jacquelyn Marthinsen of Pittsford, NY, four sons, Jonathan (Helene) DuShaw of Warren, Jeffrey (Sherry) DuShaw of Forest, VA, Joseph (Cindy) DuShaw of Portville NY, and Dr. Jerrold DuShaw of Buffalo, NY, 14 grandchildren; Andrew, Amy, and Elaina Cengeri, Grant and Adam Marthinsen, Jillena DuShaw, Matthew, Samuel, Timothy, Rebeckah Josiah and Elizabeth DuShaw and Michael and Mitchell (Scotlyn) Dodge two great grandchildren; Ayden Lee Dodge and Elijah James Dodge, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son James Alan DuShaw who died December 15, 2003, one half sister Movita Ware, and one half brother William R. Soisson Jr.

Family will be receiving friends on Sunday January 29, 2012 from 2pm to 5pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc, 372. East Main St. and again on Monday January 30th, from 10:00am to 11:00am at the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church at which time funeral services will be held at 11:00am with Rev. David Bunnell pastor, officiating. Committal service and burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church, 44 Kennedy Street Bradford, PA 16701, the American Diabetes Association, or the charity of the donor's choice.
