MVA South Of Port Allegany On Rt. 155
At 4:22 pm on Saturday, Port Allegany Fire Rescue and Ambulance along with Medics have been dispatched to a report of a 2003 Chevrolet Tracker on it's roof on Rt. 155 South at Wilson Avenue.

UPDATED--SUNDAY AT NOON:

Alissa R. Peterson, 18, of Port Allegany, PA, was transported by Port Allegany Ambulance to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries according to a news release from Trooper Daniel J. Woods of the Kane PSP barracks who investigated.

Trooper Woods wrote that the collision occurred as Peterson was traveling north on Route 155. She was talking on her cell phone and lost control of her vehicle on the slippery road. The vehicle left the roadway and impacted a culvert, then rolling over onto it's roof.

Peterson was cited for Careless Driving and Failure To Wear A Safety Belt.

State Police were assisted at the scene by Port Allegany Fire Dept., Fire Police, Port Allegany Ambulance, and McKeirnan's Towing.

I hope she wasn't hurt seriously.

i can assure you that she did finish her call. i was the one she was talking too. this is crap. the doctors at the hospital said she was wearing her seatbelt. also she is ok.. just sore. and for the guy going off about cellphones and tennagers. she was calling me to tell me she was on her way home. and if you didnt know the roads were terrible in port allegany that day, and she was driving a tracker. a death trap of a vehicle. she was not speeding. Alissa was terrified. and for you to make a statement saying "she was driving like hell" is wrong. you werent there. you dont know anything about her. instead you should be polite and pray for her to have a speedy recovery. next time you should think about the individual your attacking, before you open your mouth.

Alissa is a good kid and maybe some of you who have commented here should find out the facts before posting your BS. She is a very cautious driver who hit some ice on the road and she would have probably wrecked even if she wasn't on her phone. Just because some teenagers drive like "hell" doesn't mean she was or does...I see a lot of adults that drive like "hell" too...maybe next time you should think of the people involved before posting rude and mean comments...Alissa, I hope you feel better soon and I'm glad you are ok...love ya!!
