Open House Today At New Corry Potato Chip Plant

Potato chip plant to host open house Saturday in Corry
GoErie.com

Potato chip manufacturing has returned to Erie County.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is being held Saturday in Corry at the new site of The Brothers Wood Co. at 1524 Enterprise Road in the Corry Industrial Incubator.

The company has been making chips for about a year, at first through a skeleton crew that remained at the former Troyer plant in Waterford.

The chips are now being made in Corry. Those attending the open house, which begins at 10 a.m., will be able to get a tour of the production process, including the frying and bagging of the chips. There will be plenty of samples on hand.

How many of you remember the Potato Chip busniess that was over out side of North Bingham? Also do you know or remember who had it? You could buy it in 2 or 3 gal cans.

The name of the chip is "Wood Chips"...the brothers last name is Wood. Good guys and good chips!

Wasnt the Frito Lay plant in Galeton purchased by Chattanooga Label and converted into a plant that acid etches bottles?

The potato chip company that was near North Bingham was owned by Bernhardt Seligman . It was Seligman Foods, Inc.

7:08, there was not enough of a market for the plant in Galeton. It was for French Fries. Seems that it is a tough market to break into with all of the Ore-Ida fries out there. Shame because we had some samples out of there when they first started up, they were really good!!
