Shirley P Haynes, 83, of Bradford, formerly of Smethport, PA

Shirley P Haynes, 83, of Bradford, formerly of Smethport, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

She was born on May 7, 1928 in Bradford, a daughter of the late Joseph and Amy Collar Howard.

She was a 1946 graduate of the Bradford Area High School.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Smethport, the American Legion Post 138 Ladies Auxiliary; of which she was a former Chaplin, Smethport, a former member of the Byllye Lanes bowling league and the Ladies Golf league, Smethport.

She worked for Hamlin bank, Smethport, as a bookkeeper for 25 years until her semi-retirement in 1991 at which time she became a courier for the bank.

She is survived by one son, Tim (Jeanne) Haynes, Bradford, one daughter, Kathy Schimp, Florida, one brother, William Howard, Bradford, two sisters, Marjorie Gardner, Cincinnati, OH, Nancy Lucco, Bradford, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one great great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Howard, Don Howard and Keith Howard.

At the family’s request there will be no visitation. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery, Foxburg, PA.

Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the McKean County SPCA, P.O. Box 113, Bradford, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
