Something In The Water In DuBois?

Detergent found in city water system

Friday, January 6, 2012
Courier Express
There may be something in the water in DuBois.

DuBois City Manager John "Herm" Suplizio said at Thursday's council work session that some "type of detergent is getting into the city's water system" and it could be hazardous to the fish in Sandy Lick Creek.

He said it doesn't happen all the time.

The council agreed to sign a Consent Order and Agreement with the state Department of Environmental Protection and will conduct a test by placing minnows in the Sandy Lick to find out how hazardous the substance is.

"This is 100 percent nothing the city is doing," he said. "but since it's coming into our system we have to do something."

OK NICE Lets use Minnows and kill then to say it is HAZARDOUS How nice is that How about you take the people that want to use the minnows an use them to find out if it is hazardous maybe it will kill them off and save us all money in the long run. People just amaze me when they want to kill off other things to save them self why don't they do and and save us if they think it is hazardous. come on people..

I kill thousands of minnows every year while fishing! Its not that big of a deal.

maybe have a water sample taken and tested and that will tell you what your dealing with and if it's harmful

Somebody dumped something upstream. Hope they get caught. I know... i know... this was a naturally occuring migration of detergent.

Use minnows, we wouldn't want to use our congressmen.
