I am so sad to hear about this terrible accident. Please do not pass judgement on the driver of the truck that hit her though. This was an accident, not a malicious hit and run like the rumors in town are being started. and please everyone, if you are out walking at night, carry a flashlight and wear reflective clothing, walk against traffic, and move off the road if a car is approaching.

Anonymous said...

I so agree do not pass judgment on the driver!! I am reading this from a big city and definately rumors start in little towns. The driver could also have children that don't need to hear rumors!!!! Please people stop the rumors until you get the facts!!! This was an ACCIDENT lets all remember this!!!!!! I also agree wear reflective clothing when walking at night and please stay out of the middle of the road. Better yet don't walk after dark!!

Does anyone know for sure who this was?? I haven't seen an obituary or anything stating that someone passed.

Anonymous said...

i was wounding the same thing
Friday, January 6, 2012 11:53:00 AM EST...and i don't see any one on here passing judgement ..just a lot of prayers..

I think rumors started when some misinformation got out eary on, - As a family member of the victim- I would ask that we don't swing so far the other way as to blame deceased. It's called as accident for a reason. My heart goes out to all involved- making assumtions about what happened doesn't help anyone right now.

So 12:12, as a family member, you probably KNOW what the truth is.. so why don't you get the truth out there so any and all rumors stop. ?? and tell the crowd here who it was.. I know but I ain't tellin'.. CG.

I am a relative of the driver and my prayers go out to the ladies family. Beleive me it was an accident so there is no justice to be served. The driver was not at fault. Pray for this family also because it is alot for them to deal with also. Everyone no more rumors PLEASE!! The driver does have children.

I am an aquaintance of the driver. I know that the driver has a family also and like the previous posts say, it was an accident. Please, pray for all involved, driver, woman hit and all families involved. May God take what was meant for evil and turn it around for good in Jesus' name!

One of my family members came upon the accident just minutes after it happened. It was an accident. Many prayers going out to the family of the young lady and to the driver. It's a terrible tragedy for all involved.

accident this was! The facts can't point blame at any one person. I almost hit people at night in Olean due to someone wearing black or a bad driver with their high beams still on. IDK how many people on bikes without reflectors I have come close to hitting.
This is a common area to see people walking in the summer time mostly. So may be the state should look into widening the road or something.
Just use some common scene when you are leaving your house in the evening hours.

im so sorry to hear so much drama start over this accident. that is just sad. and to the family of the lost loved one, i am so sorry and my prayers go out to you. to the driver, you are not to blame. hopefully everything can get resolved and this poor tragedy can be laid to rest peacefully. i wish i knew the details. but since i do not...may God protect us all and let her soul rest peacefully. i will not pass judgement and will not ask for details because it is too hard to distinguish what to believe. again, PRAYERS to the family and friends.

This is quite possibly the most insensitive comment I have seen in this string. As a family member of the victim, I am appalled at the insistent to get the "truth" out there. The only truth that I see is my family member and friend is no longer with us. I won't blame her for not carrying a flashlight or wearing reflective clothing. Similarly, I don't blame the driver at all. It was an accident.
What difference does it make that you know the victim's name? Quite honestly this smacks of a small-town, gossip-driven mentality. Just realize how offensive you are being.

Tragic accident and everyone involved in this is a victim in need of prayer.

I am a family member and I don't know a lot of the story but I will tell you L.W. was a beautiful young lady and was taken from us far too soon..The entire family will deeply miss her and are very worried about her kids...34 is far too young whatever way you go...I understand the driver is just as devistated and I think he and his family needs to be lifted up as well....

I knew the pedestrian in this accident. Many will miss her, don't doubt it. Both the driver and the pedestrian were victims and both, as well as their families will be in my prayers. Rest in peace LW

WHILE PRAYING FOR THE VICTIM AND DRIVER, AND THERE FAMILIES, PLEASE PRAY FOR THE SHINGLEHOUSE EMS AND FIRE DEPARTMENT THAT RESPONED TO THE CALL.

Honestly, alot of crap is being talked and one thing I do believe is that the driver admitted to be driving 55 in a 45 shouldn't he have at least gotten a speeding ticket?? My prayers go out for her family and friends she was a friend of mine and it is a very sad loss. My heart is with you

Anonymous said...

That rumor about speeding is false, read the police report... thanks! As we learned in 3rd grade, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all! Prayers to all involved!

Anonymous said...

How about instead of fighting, you pay respect to her children and donate to help them in their life since she will not be able to help her children since she had no insurance. Good Job Shinglehouse for trying to save her, prayers to both family in this. I know I wouldn't want to be in either shoes

The children in this case will receive Social Security as long as she worked. Social Security pays good benefits!!

Mandy said...

Post 11:19....what a cruel and insensitive statement to make....so because the children will receive social security benefits they should just be ok? That certainly wont bring their mother back. This is an all-around tragedy for everyone involved. We must remember that everyone suffered from this accident. Lindas children will be without their mother, but the person that hit her will relive that night for the rest of his life. Placing blame doesnt rewind that night. I think that people need to realize that the fighting and finger-pointing just shows your true mentality. As a friend of Lindas, Im sure that she is sad that all of this is going on and Im sure that she doesnt hold any bad feelings towards anyone, it was simply wrong place at the wrong time. We ALL need to remember the KIDS and instead of pointing fingers, we should all place money into the account that was set up to show our support for them, they need that more than anything right now. I also think that prayers should be sent up for all involved..this is truly a tragic event that happened and as I said before, everyone involved will live with this for the rest of their lives....isnt that enough of a sentence?
