David Lush Says Thank You,.........

I wanted to take a moment to update everyone on my condition (in case there are any rumors or inaccurate information circulating out there). Since receiving a diagnoses of Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on Jan. 9th, I’ve received 2 out of 12 planned chemotherapy treatments. Following chemotherapy, radiation treatment is planned.

Although it is stage 4, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a cancer that typically responds well to treatment, with a very high cure/survival rate. I have a long journey ahead, but Sue & I are positive that I will get through this, and that something positive will happen because of this. God has a reason for everything he does.

Words really cannot express the deep gratitude we have to the many, many people who have prayed for us, offered to help us with anything we need, sent cards, brought food, and asked about my welfare. Knowing that so many people are concerned about me affects me in a way I can’t really describe it- humility, awe, and deep gratitude are the closest I can come. Likewise, knowing that I am on the prayer lists & have been prayed for so many people from different religious backgrounds also has affected me deeply. Thank you everyone.

I would never be able to finish this journey without the constant love and support of my wife Sue, and my parents, Frank & Inez Lush. They are on this journey with me, and I feel it as hard on them as it is on me. My concern is not for me, it is for them, so please send a prayer their way.

Special thanks are in order to the doctor’s, nurses, & staff of the Patterson Cancer Center, they have been wonderful. We are very fortunate in this county to have cancer treatment facility and staff of this caliber here.

Special thanks to Harold and Barb Kiel for being there for us at the right time, always with uplifting words.

Every journey has it’s discoveries. Already we’ve discovered that there is a shortage of chemotherapy drugs and other life saving drugs in this country (List of them on FDA’s website). In my mind, this is simply astounding that this happen in this country. This is of great concern to Sue and I, and I would think to anyone with cancer and other life threatening illnesses and their family and friends.

Again, Thank you everyone. God Bless you.

David Lush
