John E. Zimmerman, 71, formerly of 186 West Washington St., Bradford, PA

John E. Zimmerman, 71, formerly of 186 West Washington St., passed away Thursday, February 9th, 2012 at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born October 10, 1940, in Bradford he was a son of the late Robert V. and Izola (Neureiter) Zimmerman.

On January 5, 1961 he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany, he was honorably discharged on November 21, 1962.

On March 3, 1967 in Cyclone he married Cheryl Ann (Miller) Zimmerman who died on November 22, 1989.

He was a member of the Eagles Club.

Mr. Zimmerman had worked as a schedular at Dresser Manufacturing Co. until his retirement.

Surviving is one daughter, Sue (Timothy) Brown of Bradford, one son, Kevin (Michelle) Zimmerman of Bradford, one brother, Robert Zimmerman of Bradford, 4 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Family will be receiving friends on Monday February 13, 2012 from Noon to 1:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. S. Ave., at which time funeral and committal will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. Joann Piatko, pastor of St. Joseph's Episcopal Church in Port Allegany officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
