Lucile J. Langner, 97, formerly of Sullivan Road, Bradford, PA

Lucile J. Langner, 97, formerly of Sullivan Road, Bradford, passed away, Friday, February 17th, 2012, at Sena Kean Manor in Smethport.

Born May 15, 1914, in Venango Township, Erie County, PA, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Martha (Marts) Petitt. Mrs. Langner was a 1934 graduate of Bradford High School.

On November 25, 1939 she married Joseph A..Langner who preceded her in death.

In 1960 she and her children moved to Ras Tanura Saudi Arabia to join her husband. She and her husband returned to Bradford and operated the Texas Hot Restaurant for many years in Bradford.

Lucile was a skilled artist who specialized in Portrait paintings and won countless awards in the United States, Canada and Overseas. She loved to cook, hosting parties, dancing and teaching painting classes.

She had volunteered for the American Red Cross. She was a member of the American Artist Association, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Surviving are two children; a daughter, Linda Langner McLaughlin of Ft. Washington, MD, and a son, Karl J. Langner, two grandchildren; Cassie (John) Wollen and Joseph (Rhanda) McLaughlin, and several nieces and nephews including Martha Cawley of Bradford.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Catherine Langner, two sisters; Helen P. Kelley and Madalein Monti and two brothers Raymond Petitt and Russell Petitt.

At the family's request there will be no visitation. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc.
