Sabinsville Woman Injured In Crash

A Sabinsville woman was moderately injured on January 28th at 2:15 am in a crash on Route 6 at the intersection with Kline Road.

Lorenna L. Pierce, 21, of Sabinsville, PA, was taken to Soldiers & Salors Hospital in Wellsboro, PA for treatment of moderate injuries.

She was a passenger in a 2010 Chevrolet Avalance driven by Leo W. Pierce, 21, of Sabinsville, PA. He was not injured.

Trooper Travis M. Trimbur, who investigated, said the crash occurred at Pierce was traveling westbound on Rt. 6 in Pike Township. Pierce's vehicle left the roadway off the northern berm of Rt. 6, continued in a westerly direction, went into a ditch before striking an embankment on the front driver's side. After impact the vehicle continued over the embankment, turned around on Kline Road and fled the scene traveling east on Rt. 6.

Pierce was cited for Careless Driving.
