West End Trailblazers List Vintage Snowmobile Winners

The West End Trail Blazers held their 10th Annual Winterfest & Vintage Snowmobile Show on January 28th. True to their word, it was held snow or now snow and we got both that day! More on the Winterfest later.

The Vintage Winners include:

Best of Show - Mark Elwell was the crowd's favorite with his 1972 AMF SkiDaddler XX400. This beauty was originally owned by Lynn Paxton, the head of the AMF SkiDaddler race team. It was a prototype and Mark was able to purchase it from him.

The 1966 and Older Class was taken by Vic Corneliussen of Coudersport with his Redde Fredde. He has owned this unusual snowmobile for over 25 years! A guy in a pickup had it in the bed of his truck after getting it from an estate. He asked Vic if he wanted it and that's where the story starts. Vic cleaned it up and it works great!

1967-1971 Class went to Shane Winsor of Allegheny, NY. Shane's 1971 Arctic Cat Panther 399 was purchased at a yard sale in Bradford. The original owner kept it in a heated garage for 28 years, so it was in great shape!

1972 - 1976 class was taken by Brian Moyer of Bangor, PA with his Alouete Brute. This gorgeous vintage sled has been in Brian's family, passed from dad to uncle to brother to son. The last time it was ridden was here in Potter County in 1988. Now it returns back here for the first time after being restored, buffed, and shined up.

1977-1981 class went to Vic Corneliussen for his 1979 Arctic Cat Pantera. He purchased it in Williamsport and has spent the past few years restoring it.

Some of the vintage sleds ran the Radar Run. The winner was Kyle Warner with his 1979 SRX440. Top speed. with no snow on the run. was 64 mph!
