Yogurt Plant To Offer 186 New Jobs In Batavia, NY

Pepsi, German firm to open yogurt plant in Batavia

By Matt Surtel

BATAVIA — A partnership including PepsiCo and a German dairy business has selected the Genesee Valley Agri-Business Park for a $206 million production facility, Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office announced Friday.

The decision by Wave LLC means 186 new manufacturing and support jobs. It will be the venture’s first yogurt production facility statewide.

“This is the largest manufacturing project that’s come to Batavia and Genesee County since Sylvania committed to building televisions here in 1953,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Steve Hyde of the Genesee County Economic Development Center. “We’re really excited.”

Project Wave will include a 363,000-square-foot food processing facility at the 81-acre site off Route 5 near the county fairgrounds. Site preparation is already under way and Hyde said construction will accelerate dramatically in spring. More...

Awesome!! Wonder if obama will get a photo op so he can pat himself on the back for this one!

Ya think he may say " Mission accomplished " OOOOps nevermind....

Give it a few years and the unions will drive it out.

Thanks to Cuomo But I don't think that Obama had anything to do with it,probably doesn't even know about it or perhaps it wouldn't happen. Sorry to those of you that think he is so great. But he hasn't done a thing he said he'd do. Those men in his cabinet were the ones that did all the damage in the bank and housing fall out. They should be behind bars like John Rigas former Adelphia founder and owner, who did a lot to the shareholders but a lot less than the ones as I mentioned above.
But I'm happy that this yogurt co is coming in to give you more jobs. I can hardly wait to taste it as I love yogurt and hope to see this brand in the Olean-Bradford area.Good luck and don't let Obama get any of this credit.

lol, 9:24

I'm not sure if I should be laughing or crying that you could be so brainwashed.

What the hell does Obama have to do with anything?

I mean I realize we've actually pulled back from the recession, we are at the highest levels of job creation since Bush completed his masterpiece of destroying the nation and we've dialed down one war and are working on the other (Republicans working hard on Iran though).

Sure, he's done all that. With republicans fighting him every step of the way, including shutting the government down because they have no move but obstructionism.

(say how about that jobs bill teabaggers? You've had 2 years... whats that? Abortion? ah, ok. that old chestnut. We both knew there was no jobs bill didn't we?)

But a yogurt factory? No, no Obama hiding in the yogurt factory yokels.
You can sleep safe and sound tonight.

I was going to make comment but you said it all! (What the hell does obama have to do with anything?) The answer nothing! Thats what his entire presidency has been about doing nothing but the same thing you do with all your posts! BLAME BABY BLAME! Oh buy the way you can't count the millions put on welfare as job creation!
