John V. “Jack” Phillips, Jr., 67, of Coudersport, PA

John V. “Jack” Phillips, Jr., 67, of Coudersport, PA died Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport.

Born on January 29, 1945 in Pottsville, PA he was the son of John V. Phillips, Sr. and Anne Delores Kocher Phillips. On September 2, 1983 in Highland Mills, NY he married Virginia Ann DeMore, who died December 1, 1998.

Mr. Phillips had lived in the Coudersport area since 1998. He had served with the U. S. Air Force from 1963 – 1967. He was formerly employed with IBM for many years as a computer systems analyst, retiring in 1997. After moving to Coudersport he had worked for Radio Shack in Sweden Valley for several years. He was a member of American Legion Potter Post 192 and enjoyed computers and cooking.

Surviving are five children, John V. (Tammy) Phillips, III of Newburgh, NY, Crystal Phillips of Columbus, Mont., Patrick Phillips of New Jersey, Kimberly (Chris) Beebe of Clancy, Mont., and Andrew Phillips of Helena, Mont., eleven grandchildren, one brother, James R. (Jan) Phillips of Robesonia, PA, one sister, Mary Louise (Phil) Kline of Temple, PA, two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends are invited to Jack’s Life Celebration beginning on Saturday, March 10, 2012 with visitation from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport. Visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at which time funeral and committal services will be held with the Reverend Charles Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in St. Eulalia Catholic Cemetery.
