Julio H. Montes, 69, of Laninger Creek Rd., Roulette, PA

ROULETTE- Julio H. Montes, 69, of Laninger Creek Rd., passed away Wednesday (Mar. 14, 2012) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born June 27, 1942, in San German, Puerto Rico, son of Herminio and Catalina Velez Montes. On Sept. 22, 2001, in Roulette, he married Deborah S. Sherwood, who survives.

Mr. Montes worked as a driller for ESI Geophysical Co. of Texas; as a grinder for Case Cutlery Co. of Bradford, and later as a driver for PCN Network delivering meals to local senior centers..

He was a resident of the area over 25 years, coming Chicago, IL.

He enjoyed camping, four wheeling, and fixing up old cars.

Surviving are two sons, Julio D. (Kelly) Montes of Medina, NY, Jason T. Montes of Creston, Iowa; two daughters, Catalina (Martin) Ruiz of Carpentersville, IL, Kimberly S. Sherwood of Roulette; three granddaughters; two brothers, and one sister; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters.

Friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. Sunday (Mar. 18, 2012) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, at which time a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. with Rev. H.D. Youngblood, officiating. Burial will be in Card Creek Cemetery, Roulette.

Memorials can be made to the DaVita Dialysis Center, 665 E. Main St., Bradford, or American Diabetes Association.
