Ulysses Home Destroyed By Friday Afternoon Fire

The cause of a structure fire that destroyed a Ulysses Boro home on Friday afternoon is undetermined due to the extensive damage caused by combustion and the collapse of the roof and first floor.

In a news release tonight, Fire Marshal Trooper David A. Surra and the Tri-Town Fire Chiefs said they investigated the fire that destroyed a single story residential structure owned by Paul E. Crippen, Jr., and Kelli J. Crippen, located at 419 Graham Street in Ulysses.

Kelli Crippen was asleep in the residence and was awakened by activated smoke alarms at 12:43 pm.

She escaped the structure without injury. There were no injuries to any fire personnel.

Damages are estimated to exceed $120,000.00

So sad. It's one of the worst feelings loosing your home. So glad nobody was hurt. Thoughts and prayers with the Crippen family. I hope the community can come together and help them with the things that they are going to need.
