James F. Byerly, Sr., 63, of 1402 Prentisvale Road, Eldred, PA

James F. Byerly, Sr., 63, of 1402 Prentisvale Road, Eldred, passed away, Friday, April 20th, 2012 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born July 22, 1948, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Ralph and Leotta (Osborne) Byerly.

Mr. Byerly attended Bradford Area Schools. He had been employed as a carpenter for Clyne Builders and also contracted work on his own. He was a member of the Eagles Club.

He raced at all the local speedways from 1982 to 1991 earning titles at each track. He drove the #19 car "Plum Crazy". He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

In addition to his wife Evelyn V. (Hart) Byerly of forty five years he is survived by two daughters, Lisa K.(Jeff) Bradford and Tammy R. (Christopher) Smith, one son, Jim Byerly all of Bradford, three sisters, Nancy Hardy, and Shirley Hardy both of CA, and Evelyn Weaver of OR, two brothers, Lee Byerly of Erie, and Tom Byerly of Bradford, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Butch Byerly and one sister, Susan Vancise.

Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. South Ave., where funeral and committal services will be held at 4:00pm, with Rev. W. LeRoy Beckes, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating.
