Elizabeth M. White, 89, of Bradford, formerly of Jamestown, NY

Elizabeth M. White, 89, of Bradford, formerly of Jamestown, passed away on Tuesday, May15, 2012 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.

She was born on March 7, 1923 in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late William and Mary O’Hagan Colwell.

On November 29, 1952 she married Bernard D. White, who preceded her in death on May 9, 2011.

She was a graduate of St. Peter and Paul Parochial School of Jamestown, Jamestown High School and Jamestown Business College.

She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women. She was an avid reader who loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.

She is survived by one son, David (Gail) White, Bradford, two grandsons, Matthew and Michael White, both of Bradford, four granddaughters, Danielle Lipscomb, Pennsboro, WV, Fay (Robert) Staskoski, Remson, NY, Nikki (Michael) Christian, Princeton, WV, Kathleen White, Bradford, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by two daughters, Kathleen White, who died in 1969 and Maria White, who died in 2010.

At the family’s request there will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 21, 2012 at the St. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Jamestown with the Rev. Dennis W. Mende as celebrant.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Jamestown.

Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the Bradford Area Public Library, 67 West Washington St., Bradford.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
