Charles O. "Joe" Nellis, 80, of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, formerly of 356 E. 5th St., Ext., Emporium died at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys on Thursday (June 14, 2012) afternoon.

He was born March 21, 1932 in Tioga, PA a son of the late Charles and Lula Maybelle Shaylor Nellis.

On January 16, 1954 in Rich Valley Weslyan Church he married the late Stella LaBorde Nellis.
Mr. Nellis retired from Motor Coil where he worked for many years. He had served Emporium Borough as the Chief of Police for several years.

Son: Lawrence Nellis, Emporium

Sister: Joanne Austin and her husband, Emporium

Funeral Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home
207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium on Monday (June 18, 2012) at 11:00 AM with Rev. James Eastman, Pastor, Abundant Life Tabernacle, officiating.

Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00-10:45 AM.
Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium.
