At 9:32 pm on Wednesday, Morris Fire & Ambulance along with Medic 1 have been dispatched to the stony creek road near the campground for a possible drowning. A person is reported to have jumped off a rope there and is still in the water. Other swimmers were attempting to rescue the person from the water.

Friends, helicopter save drowning man

Morris Township Fire Chief Dean Kreger has revealed that a 28-year-old man nearly drowned in the swimming area known as Big Falls near Morris on June 20. Friends pulled him from the water, but two helicopters malfunctioned before he could be transported to a hospital.

Morris responders were dispatched at 9:33 p.m. for a possible drowning in a wooded area near Stony Fork Road. Kreger later learned that the victim had jumped from a swinging rope into the water. His fellow swimmers noticed that he was "bobbing up and down" instead of swimming, and called 9-1-1 while they pulled him out. More....
