Kimberly Garcia, midwife and OB/GYN, To Present Programn At Hamlin Library Tuesday

Kimberly Garcia, midwife and OB/GYN will be presenting information on the changing states of a woman’s body at the Hamlin Memorial Library at 7:00 pm Tuesday, July 10th.

Garcia will explain the steps that woman’s body goes through in order to provide a better understanding of how to maintain a healthy body.

Garcia is the first and only midwife and  OB/GYN in McKean County.  She is employed by the Bradford Regional medical Center. She has a master’s and a doctorate degree in nursing, along with more than 20 years of experience in the field.

What med school did she go to again?
enough is enough. I think it is done on purpose to mislead people. A midwife is a midwife, not an OBGYN. Enough with that crap.

Why do you have to be so ignorant 6:54! Midwives delivered babies way long before Dr's did. Doctors like to be in there just to catch the baby. Midwives attend the entire labor & delivery! Midwives actually care what you want, where as a DR. just sees a Paycheck and tries to get you in and out by doing unnecessary procedures such as induction/Episiotomies/ Sometimes-C/S and all of that so they can be home by dinner and not at work all night. They only see the money. Midwives have to earn a Masters Degree from a Nurse-Midwifery program after having some experience as an RN in Labor/Delivery and Mother/Baby nursing. They need to have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and several years experience as a Labor/Delivery RN before applying to a Masters-level Nurse-Midwifery program. Do you understand what all that takes? Years! Maybe you should research some and see what a real midwife does or you could just watch the movie "The business of being born" and "More business of being born"

Just when you thought people like 6:54 were extinct, one pops their head up out of the sand.

Did you miss the part that said “midwife and OB/GYN”?

Hope she touches on the danger & risk of vaccines.

9:00 is one smart cookie, lesson taught.

She's actually not the first nor only midwife in McKean County. CCMH has a midwife over in Port Allegany's Health Center.

The point is she is not an OBGYN, and she knows it. Why is she using the title? She will never be one.

Midwives can give Paps & all of the stuff that an OB/Gyn does. They just don't have the training for High Risk Pregnancies.
