Louise J. "Peg" Summerfield, 91, of Weeden Road, Randolph,NY

Louise J. "Peg" Summerfield, 91, of Weeden Road, Randolph,NY, and a resident of Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing in Jamestown, passed away Wednesday (July 18, 2012), in WCA Hospital.

She was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Austin, Pa., the daughter of the late Guy and Lillian Peterson Nolan.

Peg attended Shinglehouse High School in Shinglehouse, Pa., and was a homemaker.

She was a waitress for 35 years at the Musky Lounge in Lakewood, and had also worked in the Eldred, Pa., bomb factory and at the Red House Inn in Allegany State Park.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and having them to her house for special family dinners. Peg was a great candy maker and created cakes for special family occasions. She also enjoyed knitting.

She is survived by a daughter, Peggy (Don) Steward of Conewango Valley; three sons: Robert Bruce (Pam Penhollow) Summerfield Jr. of Jamestown, Donald Summerfield of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Jerry Lee (Nancy) Summerfield of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Virginia Hamilton and Genevieve Gleason, both of Inverness, Fla.; and a brother, William Nolan of Wellsville, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bruce "Red" Summerfield Sr. on May 25, 1996; infant daughter Geraldine in 1953; two sisters: Amelia Johnson and Luella Kemp; and a brother, Howard Nolan.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (July 21, 2012), in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Thomas Maynard, pastor of the Celebration Fellowship Church in Leon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Randolph Cemetery.
