Ridgway Man Jailed For Arsons/Attempted Homicide

Ridgway Man Jailed Tuesday
For Arsons/Attempted Homicide
A Ridgway man was jailed tonight on Felony Arson charges involving two arson fires, one at the Pauline Smith residence, 521 West Main St. in Ridgway Township on May 30, 2012, and one on December 4, 2008 at 115 First Avenue in Johnsonburg Boro.

A third set of charges was filed in District Court alleging Attempted Criminal Homicide and Aggravated Assault in Ridgway Boro.

Francis Anthony Milliard, 54, of Ridgway, PA. was arraigned before Judge George A. King who set bail in the three separate incidents at $50,000.; $100,000., and $250,000. He was remanded to Elk County Prison when he was unable to post bail at 5:45 pm Tuesday.

Charges were filed by Trooper Greg A. Agosti, a PSP Fire Marshal in the arson cases. The Attempted Homicide/Aggravated Assault charges were filed by Ridgway Boro Police Officer Shawn M. Geci.

Anthony Karl Milliard, 28, of Ridgway, PA, was jailed on July 10, 2012, awaiting a preliminary hearing on charges of setting the fire in December, 2008, so his father could collect the insurance money. Charges were also filed implicating the younger Milliard in the May 30, 2012 arson fire.
