Police Release Information On A Frame Road Crash

Sweden Township Police Department was dispatched along with Coudersport Vol. fire dept., Coudersport Vol. Amb., & Medic 6 today at 3:24 pm to A-Frame Rd., Sweden Twp. between Sub Division Rd. and Stimaker Rd. for a one vehicle accident with injuries. 

Chief Phelps, on arrival,  found that the roadway was blocked by a severely damaged Ford Ranger pickup with both occupants out of the vehicle. Chief Phelps requested that two medevac helicopters respond to the scene due to the extent of injuries to both of them. The occupants of the vehicle were flown to Robert Packer hospital in Sayre, later the female was flown to a hospital facility in Rochester, NY.

The occupants are identified as Justin Allen Button 25 of Galeton and Amber Nicole Wooten of Coudersport. The vehicle is owned by Wooten's grandparents of Coudersport.

The vehicle was traveling South on A-Frame Rd. at a greater speed than was prudent at the time, struck the eastern embankment and rolled/flipped, coming to rest blocking the roadway.

Sweden Twp. Police were assisted at the scene by Coudersport Fire and EMS and medic 6, Life Net 7-7 & Mercy Flight helicopters.  Kightlinger motors removed the vehicle. The investigation into the crash continues and will be updated as soon as more information becomes available.
