Beloved sister and daughter

Duke Center- Elizabeth L. Lohiser, 57, passed away Tuesday (October 23, 2012) at the Bradford Nursing Pavilion following a lengthy, courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Born October 3rd, 1955 in Meadville, PA she was a daughter of William and Ruby Gates Lohiser. She and her four siblings were raised by her foster parents Rev. Glenn and Helen Hamilton of Duke Center.

Elizabeth was a 1975 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School. She had resided in Concord, Michigan for 20 years prior to moving back to Duke Center in 2008.

She was employed by the Holiday Inn in Bradford and in Michigan as a housekeeper. She was also employed as a dining room hostess at Burger King in Jackson, MI and as a waitress at the Jackson (MI) Country Club.

Elizabeth was a past member of the Duke Center Free Methodist Church and the Sandstone Church in Jackson, MI. She later attended the Cyclone Free Methodist Church and the Lighthouse Community Free Methodist Church in Prentisvale.

She loved going for walks and being in nature; she also loved her cats, Rocky, BoBo and Pepper; and doing word search puzzles. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving in addition to her foster parents are her siblings, Marshall, Gary, Loretta (Don Christopherson), Linda and Bryan Lohiser; her foster siblings, Ruth (Bert) Jones, David (Carolee) Hamilton and Darlene (Mel) O’Connor; nieces and nephews, Ann and Elena and Emily and Matthew; she is also survived by her beloved aunt Isabelle.

She was preceded in death by a nephew, Matthew Jones in 2005.

Friends may call Saturday (October 27th, 2012) at the Lighthouse Community Free Methodist Church from 10 to 11 a.m. at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Beth Rossler and the Rev. Glenn Hamilton, officiating. Burial will follow in the Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the SPCA of Bradford or the Lighthouse Community Free Methodist Church.
