Guy Robert Knickerbocker, 81, of Rexville, NY

Guy Robert Knickerbocker, 81, of Rexville, NY, died Wednesday (Oct. 17, 2012) at Jones Memorial Hospital.

Guy was born Aug. 25, 1931, in Potter Brook, Pa., the son of Elmer and Lorena (Jeffers) Knickerbocker.

He attended the Whitesville elementary and high school, and then worked for Delta Drilling, was a logger, and 15 years at the Elkland Tannery. Guy was well-known in the area as a musician and for his horses. His greatest love was his family and extended family.

Guy is survived by his wife, Barbara Knickerbocker; six children, Diane (George) Marsden, of Scio, Linda (Lee) Grover, of Genesee, Jackie Willow, of Ulysses, Guy R. Willow, of Ulysses, Kirk R. Willows, of Rexville, and Melody (Dennis)Empson, of Ulysses; six step-children, Hope Jackson, of Olean, Judy Jackson, of Wellsville, Douglas (Krystal) Jackson, of Allentown, Denise Fluty, of Florida, Richard (Nancy) Waters, of Whitesville, and James (Fawn)Waters, of Whitesville; two brothers, Leslie (Jane)Knickerbocker, Larry (Tammy) Knickerbocker, and known affectionately as a brother, Robert (Charlene) Knickerbocker; and six sisters, Regina (David)Birdsell, Sandra (Allen)Cook, Naomi (Robert)Moon, Rosella (George)Barker,Shirley (Robert)Gee, and Darlene (Ed)McNett.

Guy was predeceased by his parents, one sister, Alverta McConnell, and five brothers, Vivian, Willard, Millford, Ray, and James Knickerbocker.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Oct. 19, 2012) at Howard’s Funeral Home in Whitesville. On Saturday (Oct. 20, 2012), at the Whitesville United Methodist Church, friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with funeral services at 1 p.m. Interment will be conducted at the Whites Corners Cemetery.

In lieu of memorials, donations may be made toward Guy’s burial fund, care of Linda Grover, 3583 Gold Road, Genesee, Pa., 16923.
